The Forgotten Language of talking to the Body/ Mind Meditation

This guided meditation is a process of being reminded of a language most of us have forgotten. It’s the language of communicating with your own body.

Reiki Meditation

Reiki is a Japanese healing method which is used for healing, relaxation and for rejuvenating our energy. Reiki is, in itself, a very simple method. The universal healing energy, the Reiki power, the universal cosmic energy which surrounds us all (or however we want to call it) flows through the giver and simply passes on to the receiver. The energy flows from the top of the crown through the upper chakras, the arms and hands and then into our own or another person’s body, but it can also be an animal, a plant or a crystal. We become a channel and this powerful energy can be used for healing.

Prayer Meditation

This technique is best done at night in a darkened room, going to sleep immediately afterwards or it can be done in the morning but it must be followed by 15 minutes rest, otherwise you would feel as if you are drunk, in a stupor. This merging with energy is prayer, according to Osho. It changes you and when you change the whole existence changes.

Let Go Meditation

A short meditation based on the instructions from Osho’s ‘And Now And Here’.

Step 1: Relaxing the body

Sitting or lying down in a comfortable position, when you are ready you can allow your eyes to close now. Consciously letting your body relax. Feeling all the energy of the body moving inwards…moving inside the body…moving from the periphery and moving inwards now. Watching from inside as the body relaxes more and more…just as if it is someone else’s body relaxing…. The body becoming softer and softer…every part of the body so relaxed…. A letting go of any tension…. A letting go that one can simply allow to happen…. And as you relax even deeper, aware and present, perhaps you can see the body is left behind like a shell, an empty shell.

Mahamudra Meditation

The university is there, and you are there, - the wave pulsating with the ocean.

Eyes are closed throughout the meditation.

First stage: 30 minutes

With closed eyes, stand up and let your body be loose and receptive - wait and cooperate. Suddenly you feel an urge: If your body is relaxed, the subtle energies will begin to move the body outside of your control. This is Latihan.

Lion’s Heart Meditation

For the modern man it is difficult to relax and go into silence without preparation. First the body needs to release tension and stress. Therefore, in this meditation we start with a half hour of physical and emotional stress release. This is followed by a half hour of inner silence.

Kali Meditation

This extraordinary and dynamic Meditation is dedicated to Kali, the Goddess of destruction. Kali is destined to destroy old and overcome patterns, in order to create space for new things. Here we are given the possibility to express the "dark" aspects of ourselves in a conscious way and embrace it. In this way, we can actively gather our shadowy parts and reduce the expression of destructiveness in our life.

The Secret of Golden Flower Meditation

Osho suggests that the best time to do this meditation is just on waking in the morning, before getting out of bed and just before falling asleep in the evening. He describes the meditation as follows:

Tratak Dhyan (Meditation) , osho meditations, osho meditations for 3rd eye, meditation for concentration , osho light meditation ,

Tratak Dhyan (Meditation)

In the night we will have a third meditation, a group meditation. You have to stare at me—it is a tratak. I will be standing here; you have to stare at me without blinking. The eyes will get tired, tears will start rolling down—let them. Go on staring at me so that I can meet you, you can meet me. Just by talking meeting cannot take place. I talk only to persuade you into something else which cannot be given through talk. So talk is just a seduction for something else, for something else which cannot be communicated through words.

Kirtan Meditation

In the afternoon session generally from four to five, there will be half an hour of kirtan, devotional singing and dancing. Everyone has to participate in it. The kirtan will go on for half an hour, and during that period you should sing and dance totally and madly. This will be followed by half an hour of silence. After the kirtan, you should blindfold your eyes, plug your ears and sit down in silence.

Gurdjieff Sacred Dance, osho meditations, osho meditations instructions , osho Gurdjieff Sacred Dance, dance meditation, Tantra dance, dance for awareness,

Gurdjieff Sacred Dance

“Gurdjieff has prepared a group of dancers. The dancers created such a meditative energy, such a great wave of energy, that those who had come just to see the dance, suddenly forgot the dance completely. Something else was there by the side, a door opened through it.”

GURDJIEFF created many dances for such techniques. He was working on this technique. All the dances he was using in his school were, really, swaying in circles. All the dances were in circles — just whirling but remaining aware inside, by and by making the circles smaller and smaller. A time comes when the body stops, but the mind inside goes on moving, moving, moving. If you have been traveling in a train for twenty hours, after you have come home, after you have left the train, if you close your eyes you will feel that you are still traveling. Still you are traveling. The body has stopped, but the mind is still feeling the vehicle.

So just do this technique. Gurdjieff created phenomenal dances, very beautiful. In this century he worked miracles — not miracles like Satya Sai Baba. Those are not miracles; any street magician can do them. But Gurdjieff really created miracles. He prepared a group of a hundred people for meditative dancing, and he was showing that dance to an audience in New York for the first time. A hundred dancers were on the stage whirling. Those who were in the audience, even their minds began whirling. There were a hundred white-robed dancers just whirling. When he indicated with his hand, they would whirl, and the moment he would say, “Stop,” there would be dead silence.

That was a stop for the audience, but not for the dancers — because the body can stop immediately, but the mind then takes the movement inside; it goes on and on. It was beautiful even to look at, because a hundred persons suddenly became dead statues. It created a sudden shock in the audience also, because a hundred movements — beautiful movements, rhythmical movements — suddenly stopped. You would be looking at them moving, whirling, dancing, and suddenly the dancers stopped. Then your thought would also stop. Many in New York felt that it was a weird phenomenon: their thoughts stopped immediately.

But for the dancers, the dance continued inside, and the inside whirling circles became smaller and smaller until they became centered. One day it happened that they were coming just to the edge of the stage, dancing. It was expected, supposed, that Gurdjieff would stop them just before they danced down the stage onto the audience. A hundred dancers were just on the edge of the stage. One step more and they would all fall down into the hall. The whole hall was expecting that suddenly Gurdjieff would say stop, but he turned his back to light his cigar.

He turned his back to the dancers to light his cigar, and the whole group of a hundred dancers fell down from the stage upon the floor — on a naked stone floor. The whole audience stood up. They were screaming, shouting, and they were thinking that many must have broken their bones — it was such a crash. But not a single one was hurt; not even a single bruise was there. They asked Gurdjieff what had happened. No one had been hurt, and the crash was such that it seemed impossible. The reason was only this: they were really not in their bodies at that moment. They were slowing down their inner circling.

And when Gurdjieff saw that now they were completely oblivious of their bodies, he allowed them to fall down.If you are completely oblivious of your body, there is no resistance. A bone is broken because of resistance. If you are falling down, you resist: you go against the pull of gravity. That going against, that resistance, is the problem — not gravity. If you can fall down with gravity, if you can cooperate with it, then no possibility of being hurt will arise.

Hara Stop Dance Meditation (Stop Dance Tantric Meditation)

Meditation from Osho: The Book of Secrets, sutra 25. The stop technique to have a glimpse of the inner space, and dancing to lose ourselves in the dance.

Dance playfully, be totally lost in dancing and when the music stops, you also stop.

For few minutes be still, like a statue aware of whatever is happening inside/outside.

Then the music starts again and you dance again.

Nadabrahma Meditation

Nadabrahma is the humming meditation – through humming and hand movements conflicting parts of you start falling in tune, and you bring harmony to your whole being. Then, with body and mind totally together, you “slip out of their hold” and become a witness to both. This watching from the outside is what brings peace, silence and bliss.

No-Dimensions Meditation

The meditation lasts one hour and has three stages. In the first two stages the eyes are open but not focused on anything in particular. In the third stage the eyes are closed. The meditation is over when you hear three gongs.

This active centering meditation is based on Sufi techniques, further developed and expanded by Osho. Using the breath and a series of coordinated body movements followed by whirling, your energy becomes centered in the hara, the “life energy” center below the navel. From there you can watch the mind and experience awareness and wholeness – the body moving in all directions, the center unmoving.

First stage: SUFI MOVEMENTS 30 minutes

This is a six-part movement sequence, repeated continuously and accompanied by the sound “Shoo” rising from your navel to your throat. The sound helps your movements to become more free and easy as the meditation progresses. Make the movements and sounds with a loving heart and a centered awareness.

Begin by standing in one place, left hand on the heart center and right hand on the hara or navel center – until a bell rings and signals the start of the movement sequence:

1. Move both hands onto the hara, the backs of the hands touching together, pointing downwards.

Breathing in through the nose, bring the hands up to the heart center.

Breathing out with the sound “Shoo” move your left hand back down to the hara, and at the same time move your right arm forward (palm down) and move your right foot forward one step.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

2. Repeat this same movement with the left arm and foot forward.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

3. Repeat this movement with the right arm and foot now turning 90° sideways to the right.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

4. Repeat this movement with the left arm and foot now turning 90° sideways to the left.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

5. Repeat this movement with the right arm and foot now turning 180° clockwise to the right.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

Repeat this movement with the left arm and foot now turning 180° counter-clockwise to the left.

Return to the original position with both hands on the hara.

The hips and eyes always face the direction of the hand movement. Use graceful movements in a continuous flow, in rhythm with the music. This stage of the meditation starts slowly and builds up in intensity. While the music gradually becomes faster, the stillness of the center becomes more evident.

If you are doing this as a group you may get out of synchronicity with the others. When that happens, simply get back into the same rhythm as everyone else.

This stage is over when the music comes to a stop.

Second stage: WHIRLING 15 minutes

With arms folded across your chest for a few moments bow down, in loving gratitude to existence and to yourself.

Once the tempo of the music changes, begin whirling to the left or to the right, whichever feels best. If you whirl to the right, start with the right foot and right arm to the right and extend the left arm in the opposite direction. While you are whirling you can change your hands to any position which feels good to you. You whirl just like small children go on twirling.

If you have not whirled before start out very slowly; once your mind and body get attuned to the movements, the body will naturally go faster. If you get dizzy, it is okay to stop for a moment, then start again. To end the whirling, slow down with the music and again fold your arms across your heart center.

Third stage: SILENCE 15 minutes

Lie down on the belly, eyes closed, allowing all the energy you have gathered to flow through you. If you find it uncomfortable to lie on the belly, lie on the back. There is nothing to do, just be.

Kundalini Meditation

This “sister meditation” to the Dynamic Meditation is best done at sunset or in the late afternoon. Being fully immersed in the shaking and dancing of the first two stages helps to “melt” the rock-like being, wherever the energy flow has been repressed and blocked. Then that energy can flow, dance and be transformed into bliss and joy. The last two stages enable all this energy to flow vertically, to move upwards into silence. It is a highly effective way of unwinding and letting go at the end of the day.
